Olesya Petrova

Olesya Petrova (mezzo-soprano) Olesya Petrova was born in 1982 in Leningrad, She graduated from Okhtinsky Esthetic Center in 1996. In 2001 she began her vocal study first at the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College, and then, since 2003 - at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, in a class of People's Artist of USSR, Prof. Irina Bogacheva. Olesya Petrova is a laureate of many local and All-Russian competitions, the latest was a competition "The Three Centuries of a Classical Romance", which was organized in 2004.
Olesya Petrova is a Second Prize Laureate of Galina Vishnevskaya international vocal competition 2006.
Laureate of the II reward of the XIII international Tchaikovsky competition 2007.
Olesya Petrova has angagements in Russia (St.Petersburg, Moscow, Yaroslavl) and abroad (Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Poland, Finland, Japan, Norway, South America, Scotland). 2005-2006 she performed solo parts in "Petite Messe Solennelle" by Rossini (Deventer, Netherlands), "Die Kroenungsmesse" by Mozart (Ettlingen, Germany), The Ninth Symphony by Beethoven (St.Petersburg, Russia and Bialystock, Poland), "Utrenya" by Penderezki (Bialystock, Poland), "Messiah" Handel (St.Petersburg, Russia), 2006 she took part in "Cinderella" by Massenet (Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland). She performed Lyubasha in "Tsar's Bride" by Rimsky-Korsakov, Duenya in Prokofiev's "Betrothal in the Monastery" and Maria in "War and Peace".
Since 2007 Olesya Petrova is the soloist of the theater of opera and ballet of St. Petersburg conservatory.
