Глазунов Вячеслав Иванович Glazunov Vyacheslav Ivanovich

One of the leading experts of the St.-Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov. He is running the class of ensemble and arrangement at the faculty of folk instruments. The ensemble "Art - Contrast" which has grown from students' group into highly professional collective was created under his authority, and the arrangements that were done by Glazunov became a basis of repertoire of this ensemble.

Vyacheslav I. Glazunov is well experienced in the areas of creative and administrative work. Upon graduation and postgraduation from the Conservatory he was working in Turkmen State Institute of Arts where he managed the faculty of folk instruments, was the dean and vice-rector of the Institute. Also he run the orchestra of Turkmen folk instruments and made a plenty of orchestrations of Russian, foreign, Turkmen composers' master pieces for it. He is the author of the manual on conducting (in two volumes) which has his own orchestrations as a basis; he wrote the reader for accordion and some articles in periodic and scientific editions.

After returning to Saint Petersburg besides teaching in the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory Vyacheslav I. Glazunov was involved in active administrative work: he was a director of the symphonic orchestra of the State Academic Capella, then director of the Russian orchestra named after V.V.Andreev where he worked as a conductor as well.

At present working in the Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory Vyacheslav I. Glazunov creates repertoire for various ensembles of Russian folk instruments.
